On April 20, 2021 from 10:00 to 13:00, the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria and the Embassy of France in Bulgaria organize a webinar on energy efficiency as an element of the policy for Green Transition and the challenges faced by Bulgarian local authorities: “Sustainable recovery through energy efficiency of buildings”. The event is aimed at promoting the efforts of local authorities from Bulgaria and France to achieve the goals in the field of energy transition, to promote cooperation between local authorities on both sides, as well as to create opportunities for knowledge exchange and implementation of good practices.
In the first session, representatives of the executive on both sides will present the context in which local authorities should implement ambitious plans in the field of energy efficiency and green transition, outlining the main trends, opportunities and challenges.
The main speakers from the local authorities will be Eng. Chanka Koralska, Deputy Mayor of Burgas Municipality and Dr. Tsvetan Dimitrov, Mayor of Cherven Bryag Municipality. The French representatives are Thierry Willm, Director of the “Energy Mission, Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Networks”, Eurometropolis Strasbourg and Jean-Claude Mensch, Mayor of the Municipality of Ungersheim. They will present their good practices in the field of energy efficiency, as well as talk about the plans and challenges of the transition.
The event will also present long-term plans, pilot projects and roadmaps for deep building renovation in five Bulgarian municipalities.
